Former MITI Minister Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed Visits ANBOUND Malaysia Research Center

On 16 January, YB Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Former Malaysia's Minister for International Trade and Industry (MITI) and current Special Parliamentary Select Committee Chairman had a breakfast meeting at Anbound Malaysia office, together with Datuk Tan Teow Choon, Honorary Advisor of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Malaysia (ACCCCIM), Dato' Ong Chong Yi, Anbound Regional Chief Representative in ASEAN and researchers in Anbound Malaysia Research Center. The meeting discussed the way forward of Malaysia-China collaboration and successful examples of Chinese investments in Malaysia under the Belt and Road initiative.

Anbound researchers briefed the honorable visitors on the research aspects of ANBOUND and our major research outcomes as an independent think tank. Dato' Sri Mustapa hoped that ANBOUND could play a more important role in Malaysia-China trade and investment relations. He also pointed out that mutual benefits should be the basis of bilateral cooperation. He highlighted one of the successful examples that received good market response is that the cooperation has taken between Malaysian automotive company PROTON Holding and China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.

Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed and Datuk Tan Teow Choon had a pleasant exchange with ANBOUND Malaysia team and hoped to have more interactions like this in the future.
