China should be Vigilant on Nepal's Request to Export Fuel
ANBOUND

It is said that Nepalese government has requested China to supply petroleum products by air.

Anbound's research team is of the view that the Chinese government should take a careful, macro approach.

First of all, although the stability in Nepal is in the interest of China, China should avoid sending signals to "undermine" India.

Secondly, as a country sandwiched between China and India, the Nepalese foreign policy has been upholding the principle of “non-alignment”. Hence, when handling this incident, China should avoid the mentality of winning Nepal to counterbalance India.

Last but not least, the use of plane to transport fuel for daily use is not an economical solution; it should not be used as a regular solution.
