Re-igniting China's Modern Agricultural Cooperation Model
ANBOUND

Since 1949, China's agricultural development has undergone the processes of the formation of small-scale peasant economy, cooperation, breakdown of cooperation, and then back to the peasant economy. In the context of the modernization of its agricultural sector, Chinese government is poised to upgrade the sector, achieve the modernization target and move toward the path of cooperation. However, unlike the old-time "people’s commune", the modern cooperation is a new model that is based on ensuring the farmers’ individual rights. Generally, the Chinese government should take the western countries’ experiences as reference and adapt them to local conditions. As a whole, this would re-ignite the agricultural cooperation model.
