In China, no less than 30 cities propose to build finance centers, but most of them do not have the required conditions. Instead, the building of financial centers has turned into real estate development. China's economic aggregate ranks second in the world and it is promoting RMB’s internationalization. It therefore, needs leading international finance centers. Currently, with the support from the central government, Shanghai is building an international financial centre. Also, Beijing has proposed to build a financial centre city which bears international influence. What is then an international financial centre? How does it develop? What are the essential factors and conditions? This report provides some references for China through brief summaries and inductions.
