Environmental Pollution and Solution for China's Rural Development
ANBOUND

Environment pollution in rural areas has been seriously neglected in China. According to the survey by National Committee of CPPCC in 2006, over the years most of the funds were used to prevent and control pollution in the industries and cities. However, more than 300 million people in rural areas do not have access to clean drinkable water and over 60% of the below standard water quality is due to unnatural factors. More than 100 million acres of arable land is contaminated. Every year, 120 million tons of garbage is dumped in the rural areas. Therefore, there is an urgency to solve rural environmental problem.
