The Definition of National Interest
ANBOUND

The Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC—the time set apart—remarks a new era of China's politics. After the new leaders taking the offices, China gradually shows stronger ambition on growth, and proposes more progressive growth strategies. Besides advocating "Chinese Dream", the new leaders frequently force “major moves” in the past two years: carried out more diplomatic activities, launched “the belt and road” initiative (Maritime Silk Road, Silk Road Economic Belt), founded BRICS Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and defined the Air Defense Identification Zone of East China Sea. Various actions present an active posture, and highlight China’s national interests in the international platform. When China is busy with expanding the international development space, domestic growth is also another grand task, but China faces both economic and social challenges due to economic transformation and restructuring. So, understanding the national interest comprehensively and objectively helps the decision makers to draw out more scientific and rational future development strategies.
