Transitional Policy to Beijing Odd-and-even License Plate Rule
ANBOUND

As the largest Chinese city of vehicle numbers, Beijing processes almost 5.5 million vehicles in 2014. This leads to massive traffic jam, disorder parking and the resulting inefficient city operation, which has been remarked as one of the classic urban diseases of Beijing. During the APEC, Beijing government restricted the running of vehicles based on odd and even plate number, so that to guarantee the traffic condition and display a possibility of traffic management adjustment via a unique mean. Is it feasible for Beijing to implement the restriction in the long term? How it will influence Beijing's traffic, space planning and economy? ANBOUND research team views the problem from an independent perspective, conducts in-depth analyses on a transitional policy, and expects to backup the decision making of Beijing’s traffic strategic investigation.
