Internalization that Led by the SOEs is at High Risk
ANBOUND

The scale of foreign investment outflows and reserves that led by the State-owned enterprises is indeed large. The SOEs' non-financial foreign investment has been maintained at more than $55 billion since year 2008. The figure even exceeded $60 billion in year 2011. By the end of 2010, the SOEs have invested in more than 15,000 foreign companies with the total assets of more than $1000 billion. The SOEs are playing the leading role in China’s foreign investment. It is worth noting that the SOEs are exposed to greater foreign investment risks over the recent years, thus there will be a staggering loss if the risks outbreak. There are potential risks in many of the SOEs’ overseas investment projects. However, the reasons are rather thought-provoking.
