Will The "High-Speed Rail for Rice" Project Easily Being Cancelled by Thailand?
ANBOUND

On October 2013, Premier Li Keqiang and Thai PM Yingluck reached an agreement on "High-Speed Rail for rice" cooperation. However, currently Thailand's Constitutional Court ruled that the infrastructure construction project which had been passed by parliament is unconstitutional. This means that the high-speed rail project will be suspended and the export of China's high speed rail is hit by another setback. ANBOUND think tank scholars believe that China will be facing various bottlenecks and risks when trying to export its equipment to developed countries and developing countries. The cancellation of “High-Speed Rail for rice” project is really embarrassing; in future, China should be fully prepared for such political risks in various aspects including law, policy and economy.
